Observation of First ‘Constitution Day’ on 26th November 2015 in the 125th ‘Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’ at KLE University, Belagavi
First ‘Constitution Day’ was observed at KLE University, Belagavi on Thursday, the 26th November by the NSS Cell of the University.
Dr. V. D. Patil, Registrar, KLE University, welcomed the staff and students of the University and its constituent Units at Belagavi. He stressed on Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contribution during the drafting of Indian Constitution. He also introduced the chief guest.
Dr. (Mrs.) N. S. Mahantashetti, Principal, JNMC, read out the ‘Preamble of the Indian Constitution’ to the staff and students on the occasion of ‘International Non-Violence Day’.
Prof. (Dr.) B. Jayasimha, Principal of KLES B.V. Bellad Law College, Belagavi, who was the Chief Guest, delivered a Guest Lecture on the ‘Philosophy of Indian Constitution – Principles of Justice, Liberty, Euality and Fraternity’ and told that Indian constitution is the longest written document in the world and stresses on the relationship between the Parliament, the Executive Government and the Judiciary. It has also given us the Fundamental Rights and Duties of the citizens.
On this occasion, the students of KLE institute of Physiotherapy sung Patriotic songs. Ms. Unnati, NSS Student Volunteer, briefed about the life and work of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar. Certificates and Cash Prizes were distributed to the Student Winners of Essay Competition on the topic – Is our Constitution the guardian of Human Rights?’.A Pictorial Exhibition was also organized in the lobby of the college on the life and works of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by the NSS Unit -5 of KLE College of Physiotherapy.
Dr. M. S. Shivaswamy, NSS Programme Coordinator, proposed Vote of Thanks and Dr. Snehal Dharmayat, NSS Programme Officer anchored the programme. All the Principals – Dr. Sanjiv Kumar Dr. Alka Kale, Prof. Sudha Raddi, Dr. V.P.Rasal and Dr. M.S. Ganachari, Dr. H.B. Rajashekhar, Dr. A P Hogade along with the University Officials, staff, students, NSS Programme Officers & Volunteers of constituents units of the University & KLE Hospital were present on this occasion. The Program ended with singing of National Anthem.
